Our Paperchase

In July of 2005, we got our application from Lifeline to begin the process of an adoption for our Anna Claire. We had already asked many questions prior to this and had decided upon using Lifeline Children's Services as our agency. Anna Shero was our social worker all throughout until the very end and Karla Thrasher took over. Then September 14th, 2005, we finally turned in the very long application! After months of paperwork and paper chasing, on January, 31 2006, we took our Dossier to Lifeline and it was sent to China. Due to Chinese New Year, we were not logged in until March 2, 2006. Our wait had begun! We didn't know that the wait would turn out to be years. We were originally told months, but like things so often do with adoptions, things changed. Then on January 22, 2009 we received the call, but due to complications the CCAA referred us another child on February 13th, 2009. We received another call and it was one of the craziest days ever!! We showed her picture to anyone who would look! Then the work began... Plans, Visa's, Fund-Raiser, Care package, pack, go to Wal-Mart, ask lots of question!! It has been non-stop!! We can't wait to hold her in our arms after so many years of waiting!
