Nanchang Day 5- The Museum & the Countryside Village

This is at the Museum about her Province!

































It is really humbling to see where some of these people live and what they must endure.















The lady in the picture with the rod holding two buckets was an interesting experience for Steve. He and the guide and Al (another American with us) had gone down into the village to see closer and get some pictures. On their way back up the street, they passed this lady. Al asked if the buckets were full of water. But as soon as she got close and passed them, they realized very quickly that it was not water. The buckets were full of thick brown liquid and the aroma about knocked them down. She was probably going to fertilize her garden. They later laughed about this and even the guide told the driver the story so that he too could have a good laugh.


While in the village we saw water buffalo in the grassy fields along the sides of the road!



























Today, I feel like we made a little more progress with Anna Claire. Her body has relaxed a little from when we first got her. Without the baby carrier, she is a little hard to carry in your arms. Her back is stiff and she wouldn't lay her head down on our shoulders easily. Today though I noticed she is just laying her head right down on our shoulders and molding into me when I hold her. Tonight she was a little fussy at dinner, but I think she was really tired. Her afternoon nap was only a little over an hour. But when we got to the room she just wanted me to hold her. I held her real close in front of me and she stared into my eyes and played with me some of the time. It was really a sweet moment. She has talked to us a little more today too. Her voice is soft and very sweet. I think she has a very nice temperament. We also are excited that she did not throw up tonight. We are praying she is getting better, but she is still not eating well. She only drank about 6 ounces of formula today and a couple of spoons of soup. We pray that it is enough to sustain her until she gets her appetite back. Everything is just such a huge transition.

Today was a similar day to yesterday. We talked to some family over Skype, had the breakfast buffet that we are officially tired of eating and got ready for our afternoon outing. Anna Claire took a nap this morning while I went through some of our paperwork that we have to take to Guangzhou, our next stop. I brought very large ziplocks to put all the papers in so they won't get messed up and then some of our things that we have collected while being here too. We later met our group that turned out to be pretty small. It was our family, our guide and the man traveling with Susan who is the single lady in our group. We went to the Provincial City Museum! We have one word for the museum, BORING! When we arrived the first signage was in Chinese & English but after that it was 98% Chinese so it made it hard. We looked around at each of the 3 floors fairly quickly and were ready to move on.
